LaRoc Paradise Palette Review

As a makeup artist I’m always looking out for the latest trends and palettes to get my creative juices flowing. Last week I was contacted and sent a palette by LaRoc Cosmetics to review.

I chose their collaboration palette with influencer Saskia called the Paradise Palette which has the most beautiful colours and thought it would be perfect to add some colour to my look.

Read on to see some swatches and see how I got on with the palette.

I heart revolution Heartbreakers Lucky Palette review

I’ve been having a massive makeup clear out during lockdown and have donated or given away items I haven’t used or gently used. My collection had a lot of nudes or same colour stories so it’s time to revamp and add additional colours and products I don’t have.

I realized I lacked green eyeshadows, and for my complexion and eye colour I adore greens, especially mixed with golds and plums. I had a quick browse in Superdrug and found this cute palette for just £5, and having some Revolution / I heart Revolution makeup previously I picked it up.

This is the lucky Palette from their Heartbreaker line, which consists of tones of green and pops of colour which complement each other.

See below what I thought of this palette!

Price: £5

Available from: Superdrug, Revolution

L’oreal Colorista Washout Yellow Neon review

I dye my hair, a lot, if you hadn’t noticed by now! Growing up with a mother as a hairdresser, from the age of 15 have always had some sort of colour in my hair. It is kind of like a security blanket, but I don’t feel myself if my hair is brown or blonde, it has to have some splash of colour in it!
I found the Colorista Yellow Washout on an end of line clearance and was skeptical. Some yellows I have had in the past such as Crazy Colour, W7 or Directions didn’t come out very yellow, even on the lightest parts of my hair. I initially got this colour to mix it in with reds and oranges but thought why not try it on its own to create my ombre hair.

I think I paid £3 for this, but normal Colorista products retail for around £7.

Lets Talk: Acids

Acids are widely talked about recently and are O K A Y for your skin. I’m going to try my best for you all to at the end of this hopefully understand acids and maybe try one out for yourself without being scared of the word acid and the thought of it going on your face. They all have different purposes for each skin type, texture, look, and overall condition of how your skin looks and could be your answer for a concern you have.

If you think about it, we use acidic products every day and even eat them. Do you think twice about eating an orange? That’s Citric Acid, a great source of Vitamin C.

They come in different strengths, formulations, prices and textures and I will be honest, all are trial and error as with all skincare items. I will try and break it down as simply as I can from what I have learned over time while working with these products and what ones could suit you best. With any skincare it’s about maintaining a routine to see a difference.

I have studied makeup and skincare to a professional level, however please do your own further research and only use this as a guideline as the majority of my research has been done through my own studies while gently touching upon these acids in my studies in class.

While at the Kat Von D Blogger Event I was given the opportunity to try a Lock It Foundation. This is something I had been dying to try for years as I had heard friends and bloggers online rave about the coverage and lasting power of the foundation.

Skincare Diaries; Month 1

I’ve vowed that this year I am going to crack on with getting my skin in tip top condition, and be a little bit less bias to the stuff I do use (mainly Pixi and Body Shop) and splash out on skincare in all shapes forms and sizes.

Now going into this I do have quite sensitive skin around my cheeks, nose areas and middle forehead. If the wrong products touch these areas I am left with burns and sore red irritated skin. So I am cautious however I am cracking on with it to see what else is out there because we won’t know unless we try will we?!

I will be doing monthly checkins of the products I use, if I’ve stuck to it, and if I’ve seen an improvement with what I’m using.

Spectrum Fresh F.A.C.E Brush Set Review

While at the Spectrum press event I was kindly given a set of Fresh F.A.C.E brushes to try out. I’ve followed Spectrum brushes for a long time and knowing they are a Welsh company does make me pay more attention to who they are.
They are a cult favourite for brushes due to their bold colourful look and professional finish. I’ve been fairly impressed with how much these four brushes can change your look up!

Brushes are vegan and cruelty free. While at the press event they stressed that using cruelty free products along with their brushes was a huge priority for them.

Read on to see how I created a full face with the 4 brushes in this set.

With Spring literally just arriving, I’m eager to see what the trends will be for this season. I’m praying and hoping we ditch the matte lip, foundation and heavy brows and move on from the perfected Kylie Jenner-esque look.

Here are my predictions for the start to a fresher makeup look for Spring 2017.
