LaRoc Paradise Palette Review

As a makeup artist I’m always looking out for the latest trends and palettes to get my creative juices flowing. Last week I was contacted and sent a palette by LaRoc Cosmetics to review.

I chose their collaboration palette with influencer Saskia called the Paradise Palette which has the most beautiful colours and thought it would be perfect to add some colour to my look.

Read on to see some swatches and see how I got on with the palette.

W7 Porefection! Review

I kindly received a box of W7 goodies to try and throughout the month I’ll be writing how I got on with the products and how they slotted into my usual routine. The one I was most concerned about switching in my routine was the primer. I’m a big fan of my Iman Time Control primer, Nyx Angel Veil and Nyx Primer spray and it is hard for me to change my mind when I’m happy with something in my routine. Whenever I hear the word “Pore” in a primer, I do cringe. Silicone based primers rarely sit on my skin and I find that any primer that tries to be a dupe of Benefit’s Porefessional slides off my skin. However I’m always up for trying new things so I gave it a go.

How I de-stress; Charity / Thrift Shopping

I have a fight or flight mode when it comes to my mental health, and usually I choose flight. In the past I have gotten on random buses or trains and just gotten off at the last stop to have a walk around and clear my head, which can be a bit dangerous for me because I have no sense of direction. So when I need to de-stress or try to get away for a hour or two I try to stick to my area of Cardiff and have a look around charity shops. This way I don’t spend money that I usually don’t have, its kind of guilt free knowing it’s going to charity and can get my frustrations out by rummaging around boxes and coat rails of clothes. The best thing to do is go with an open mind and you’ll find some things you were totally not expecting.

My favourite place to go is Albany Road. I’ve heard that Canton is also great for charity shops as my friends have managed to pick up genuine bags and purses for under £5 because the shops think they’re fake, but I’ve yet to go there.

Lush The Comforter Bubble Bar Review

I’m not overly keen on baths but when I do have a relax I like to have a really bubbly bath. I’m more impressed at how my bath bubbles up than a fizzing bath bomb. Baths are supposed to be bubbly!

I was immediately drawn to the smell of The Comforter because it reminded me of my beloved Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly which has sadly become discontinued. It’s also a supersized Bubble Bar which means more bubble for my buck.

Rimmel London Colour Precise Eye Liner Review

Since working on NYX Cosmetics I’ve been keen on trying out more affordable brands and surprised with what I have found so far. I do confess, I am an absolute eyeliner hoarder. If I leave my house without eyeliner on my eyes people always ask me if I’m unwell as I don’t look myself. I am fully aware I do look like a naked mole rat without some sort of eyeliner on my eye so I do try to wear it 90% of the time.

With that said, I am always keen on trying new eyeliners out, whatever the colour, formula or application.

I picked up Rimmel’s newest eyeliner when it caught my eye in June, boasting of it’s 24 hour wear and pigmented formula.

Read on to see how I got on with it!

I’m moving house!

So today I shall be moving from one area of Cardiff to another.

I currently live in Roath, which is a popular student/residential area of Cardiff with lots of life and atmosphere. I will be moving to the Heath area of Cardiff which sadly has less character in my opinion but thankfully doesn’t have as many students. Plus I can go back to my old Dr. (Which I hope is still there!) who was lovely compared to the one I see on City Road, who is a little patronizing. I will be living with 3 Professionals whilst I’ll still be a part time student and working.

So you may have noticed the lack of posts recently, this is due to my move. I have packed up all my makeup and have left the newest purchases at my parents house for safe keepings. These includes YSL Kiss and Blush, W7 pallets, Soap and Glory skincare some Ciate nail polishes and a whole lot of Yankee Candles! I have also started working in a local bar in town for extra money which is so fun, feels like I’m on a night out but I get to earn money for it!

So please bare with for the next week or two then expect a whole lot of blogging!
