Affordable Holiday Beauty Gifts 2021

After a rather chaotic past 2 years, it’s safe to say this Holiday we will be treating our loved ones a little bit more, and here are some of my favourite sets £30 and under available at beauty retailers in the UK.

Its always a struggle to get certain gifts however this year I’ve found that holiday sets are packed full of products to try, which is perfect after not being able to keep up with new launches from brands.

Read on to find out what I’ve found at my local Boots store and take some inspiration for gifting!

YSL Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Blur Primer

I’m not a fan of silicone based primers, however I thought I would give this a try as I received it as part of a try me bag through my work.

I’ve never got on with silicone primers, mainly as it clogs my pores resulting in breakouts, slides my makeup around in oily places and just makes my makeup sit very poorly. However, I love trying things and being proved wrong and finding new things to use.

This primer retails for £32 for 30ml, comes in a glass bottle with gold lid which sits very nicely next to other YSL products.

Lets Talk: Acids

Acids are widely talked about recently and are O K A Y for your skin. I’m going to try my best for you all to at the end of this hopefully understand acids and maybe try one out for yourself without being scared of the word acid and the thought of it going on your face. They all have different purposes for each skin type, texture, look, and overall condition of how your skin looks and could be your answer for a concern you have.

If you think about it, we use acidic products every day and even eat them. Do you think twice about eating an orange? That’s Citric Acid, a great source of Vitamin C.

They come in different strengths, formulations, prices and textures and I will be honest, all are trial and error as with all skincare items. I will try and break it down as simply as I can from what I have learned over time while working with these products and what ones could suit you best. With any skincare it’s about maintaining a routine to see a difference.

I have studied makeup and skincare to a professional level, however please do your own further research and only use this as a guideline as the majority of my research has been done through my own studies while gently touching upon these acids in my studies in class.

A guide to finding hidden gems of the beauty world

I always struggle to feel inspired when finding new makeup and try to look in places you wouldn’t usually look, such as your go to beauty destinations, like Boots, Debenhams and Superdrug. You can usually find great deals and offers in these places at competitive prices and if you’re willing to try new brands or be pleasantly surprised at finding brands you already know and love. Here’s my favourite places to have a mooch around in when I look for new makeup buys.

Lime Crime Shroom and Salem swatches and review!

I bought these liquid lipsticks November, when Lime Crime had their flash sale on the Venus Palette and thought may as well try out their liquid lipsticks as well. I had been on the hunt for a brown coloured lipstick for a while so gave in, popped one in my basket and left it at that. They turned up pretty quick, around a week after my order was put in.

It’s that time of the year where a bunch of us local welsh bloggers get invited to a get together in Lush to shop and try their new product lines, this time it was for their new limited editions in their Mothers Day and Easter lines. Bath Bombs, Bubble Bars and scrubs were all being demo’d as well as well as mini hand demo’s of face masks and scrubs and hand products. Continue reading “Lush Easter Bloggers Event!”
