I heart revolution Heartbreakers Lucky Palette review

I’ve been having a massive makeup clear out during lockdown and have donated or given away items I haven’t used or gently used. My collection had a lot of nudes or same colour stories so it’s time to revamp and add additional colours and products I don’t have.

I realized I lacked green eyeshadows, and for my complexion and eye colour I adore greens, especially mixed with golds and plums. I had a quick browse in Superdrug and found this cute palette for just £5, and having some Revolution / I heart Revolution makeup previously I picked it up.

This is the lucky Palette from their Heartbreaker line, which consists of tones of green and pops of colour which complement each other.

See below what I thought of this palette!

Price: £5

Available from: Superdrug, Revolution

L’oreal Colorista Washout Yellow Neon review

I dye my hair, a lot, if you hadn’t noticed by now! Growing up with a mother as a hairdresser, from the age of 15 have always had some sort of colour in my hair. It is kind of like a security blanket, but I don’t feel myself if my hair is brown or blonde, it has to have some splash of colour in it!
I found the Colorista Yellow Washout on an end of line clearance and was skeptical. Some yellows I have had in the past such as Crazy Colour, W7 or Directions didn’t come out very yellow, even on the lightest parts of my hair. I initially got this colour to mix it in with reds and oranges but thought why not try it on its own to create my ombre hair.

I think I paid £3 for this, but normal Colorista products retail for around £7.

Kat Von D Dagger Liner Review

During an intimate event with Kat Von D I was kindly gifted their Dagger Liner to try out, which is a similar format to the Tattoo Liner but t an angle. I did not get on with the Tattoo Liner originally due to the applicator being a little chunky for me to apply thin lines with, so I was excited to see if this applicator worked better for me. The formula is very similar to the Tattoo Liner, so if you are a fan favourite of this cult product or like me, longed for something thinner, this might be for you!

It retails for £17 and is the same colour, Trooper Black, as the Tattoo Liner.

Revisited: NYX Lip Lingerie

I’ve recently been using up some old bits of makeup and revisiting some cult classics I have purchased from the influence of others or just from curiosity. Remember when everyone went crazy over Nyx Lip Lingerie? When no one knew how to pronounce lingerie, or knew it was a french word for underwear? How they were a dead ringer for some Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits, and everyone would suck shot glasses to get big, voluptuous lips? Today, we are revisiting that, minus triple the size lips or getting bruises from shot glasses.

You can still purchase these for £7!
Read on to see why everyone wanted these lipsticks and hear my thoughts!

Natura Siberica Northern Soap for Deep Cleansing review

Recently I have been a bit more experimental in trying out different skincare lines and my skin has been very cooperative. My guess is that as I’ve gotten older it’s getting less reactive to products which is fantastic because it means now I can expand on my skincare collection!
I’ve not been lazy lately and I have been actually washing and toning my face every morning, instead of just using makeup wipes or a glycolic wipe/pad, my skin has loved me for not being lazy.

I’d heard about this product from a few ladies in M&S so when I had the opportunity to test out the “Amaretto smelling face wash” which was all natural I couldn’t say no. This is the Northern Soap Deep Facial Cleaning by a brand called Natura Siberica.

It’s all natural, no animal bi products included so it’s vegan friendly, and it smells amazing.

This is a deep cleanser with activated charcoal that you wipe on with the sponge (which is conveniently included), and wash off. It’s recommended you do this twice a week, inbetween your usual cleansing routine. Read on to see how I got on with this product!

Price: £11.99
Time Tested: 4 weeks
Cruelty free: Yes
Vegan: Yes

Spectrum Fresh F.A.C.E Brush Set Review

While at the Spectrum press event I was kindly given a set of Fresh F.A.C.E brushes to try out. I’ve followed Spectrum brushes for a long time and knowing they are a Welsh company does make me pay more attention to who they are.
They are a cult favourite for brushes due to their bold colourful look and professional finish. I’ve been fairly impressed with how much these four brushes can change your look up!

Brushes are vegan and cruelty free. While at the press event they stressed that using cruelty free products along with their brushes was a huge priority for them.

Read on to see how I created a full face with the 4 brushes in this set.

Spectrum Marbleous brush launch event

Last week I was invited to attend Spectrum brushes press event for their new collection of marble brushes.

This cruelty free brush brand is Barry born and bred and know their stuff when it comes to brushes that set themselves apart from the rest.

To launch the new whopping 35 piece set, named the Holy Grail set, we were treated to an evening of pampering from Nails Inc, buffet from local veggie and vegan cafe Milgis, and cocktails and bubbles from Candy Kittens and Dirty Martini.

Read on to see what went on in this special evening!

W7 Porefection! Review

I kindly received a box of W7 goodies to try and throughout the month I’ll be writing how I got on with the products and how they slotted into my usual routine. The one I was most concerned about switching in my routine was the primer. I’m a big fan of my Iman Time Control primer, Nyx Angel Veil and Nyx Primer spray and it is hard for me to change my mind when I’m happy with something in my routine. Whenever I hear the word “Pore” in a primer, I do cringe. Silicone based primers rarely sit on my skin and I find that any primer that tries to be a dupe of Benefit’s Porefessional slides off my skin. However I’m always up for trying new things so I gave it a go.

Ultraflesh Rose Gold Blusher Review

While shopping in Mcarthur Glen I managed to pick up an Ultraflesh blusher. I’ve heard good things about their products in the past so I was excited to be finally able to try a product of theirs.
I picked up a rose gold blusher, which is out of my comfort zone and a colour I want to try and wear. So basically this was a kill two birds with one stone moment for me! The colour didn’t look too bright and just had enough of a shimmering glow to it that didn’t look too much for me to handle.
Ultraflesh blusher review
I paid £4.99 for this, but it does retail for around $30.

Rimmel London Colour Precise Eye Liner Review

Since working on NYX Cosmetics I’ve been keen on trying out more affordable brands and surprised with what I have found so far. I do confess, I am an absolute eyeliner hoarder. If I leave my house without eyeliner on my eyes people always ask me if I’m unwell as I don’t look myself. I am fully aware I do look like a naked mole rat without some sort of eyeliner on my eye so I do try to wear it 90% of the time.

With that said, I am always keen on trying new eyeliners out, whatever the colour, formula or application.

I picked up Rimmel’s newest eyeliner when it caught my eye in June, boasting of it’s 24 hour wear and pigmented formula.

Read on to see how I got on with it!
