I’ve been having a massive makeup clear out during lockdown and have donated or given away items I haven’t used or gently used. My collection had a lot of nudes or same colour stories so it’s time to revamp and add additional colours and products I don’t have.
I realized I lacked green eyeshadows, and for my complexion and eye colour I adore greens, especially mixed with golds and plums. I had a quick browse in Superdrug and found this cute palette for just £5, and having some Revolution / I heart Revolution makeup previously I picked it up.
This is the lucky Palette from their Heartbreaker line, which consists of tones of green and pops of colour which complement each other.
I dye my hair, a lot, if you hadn’t noticed by now! Growing up with a mother as a hairdresser, from the age of 15 have always had some sort of colour in my hair. It is kind of like a security blanket, but I don’t feel myself if my hair is brown or blonde, it has to have some splash of colour in it!
I found the Colorista Yellow Washout on an end of line clearance and was skeptical. Some yellows I have had in the past such as Crazy Colour, W7 or Directions didn’t come out very yellow, even on the lightest parts of my hair. I initially got this colour to mix it in with reds and oranges but thought why not try it on its own to create my ombre hair.
I think I paid £3 for this, but normal Colorista products retail for around £7.
Branching out to appeal to new customers, Funko announced that they are collaborating with Disney to create a Villain inspired collection with a twist. Not the usual Funko figurines to be seen here, but a collectible makeup palette stylized in the famous style 3D rendering of the selected villain head. Confirmed so far are 4 Villains. While at the Kat Von D Blogger Event I was given the opportunity to try a Lock It Foundation. This is something I had been dying to try for years as I had heard friends and bloggers online rave about the coverage and lasting power of the foundation.
The shade range available ranged from very pale to deep tones so there is definitely an option for almost everyone. If your shade is slightly off tone, you can mix the Lock It Concealers in to get your perfect shade.
Last week I was invited to attend Spectrum brushes press event for their new collection of marble brushes.
This cruelty free brush brand is Barry born and bred and know their stuff when it comes to brushes that set themselves apart from the rest.
To launch the new whopping 35 piece set, named the Holy Grail set, we were treated to an evening of pampering from Nails Inc, buffet from local veggie and vegan cafe Milgis, and cocktails and bubbles from Candy Kittens and Dirty Martini.

With Spring literally just arriving, I’m eager to see what the trends will be for this season. I’m praying and hoping we ditch the matte lip, foundation and heavy brows and move on from the perfected Kylie Jenner-esque look.
Here are my predictions for the start to a fresher makeup look for Spring 2017.
I was approached by ChloBo in December to learn about their jewellery and have the opportunity to try one of their bracelets from their current collection.
ChloBo is a jewellery company that creates bespoke Gold, Gold plated, and Sterling Silver pieces to suit every style and current trend. They offer bracelets, rings, necklaces, pendants earrings and much more. Ranging from minimalist to statement there is truly something to cater for everyone’s style.
I chose to receive the Mini Noodle Ball Dragonfly Bracelet priced at £90 which was Gold Plated on 925 Sterling Silver, as I prefer gold jewellery and loved how small and minimal the design was.
ChloBo is a UK brand started by Chloe Moss, who started creating jewellery herself and is worn by celebrities such as Ellie Goulding and Cheryl Cole. It was first stocked in Liverpool’s popular store Cricket and has even been featured in Vogue. Her inspirations for her whole line of jewellery comes from Bali and South-East Asia and her brand certainly shows her love of travelling with it’s iconography and simplistic designs and charms.
I kindly received a box of W7 goodies to try and throughout the month I’ll be writing how I got on with the products and how they slotted into my usual routine. The one I was most concerned about switching in my routine was the primer. I’m a big fan of my Iman Time Control primer, Nyx Angel Veil and Nyx Primer spray and it is hard for me to change my mind when I’m happy with something in my routine. Whenever I hear the word “Pore” in a primer, I do cringe. Silicone based primers rarely sit on my skin and I find that any primer that tries to be a dupe of Benefit’s Porefessional slides off my skin. However I’m always up for trying new things so I gave it a go.
Glam Glow was recently launched in Boots in Cardiff and I’ve been wanting to try this blogger favourite for a while. I managed to get some samples from the counter to try at home myself to figure out what one I love the most before I purchase. I have really sensitive skin so with any skincare product I always make sure to try before I commit and purchase.
I was given Youth Mud, Super Mud and Thirsty Mud to try so at the time of using this my skin needed a bit of a pick me up and exfoliate so I used Youth Mud. I’m 25, so I feel like this is the age I should start using anti ageing and look after my skin a little more so I was keen to try it and possibly purchase if I loved using it.
1 tub of Youth Mud sells every 10 seconds in the US so I was keen to see what the hype was. One 50g tub costs around £39 from Boots.
While shopping in Mcarthur Glen I managed to pick up an Ultraflesh blusher. I’ve heard good things about their products in the past so I was excited to be finally able to try a product of theirs.
I picked up a rose gold blusher, which is out of my comfort zone and a colour I want to try and wear. So basically this was a kill two birds with one stone moment for me! The colour didn’t look too bright and just had enough of a shimmering glow to it that didn’t look too much for me to handle.
I paid £4.99 for this, but it does retail for around $30.
