Natura Siberica Northern Soap for Deep Cleansing review

Recently I have been a bit more experimental in trying out different skincare lines and my skin has been very cooperative. My guess is that as I’ve gotten older it’s getting less reactive to products which is fantastic because it means now I can expand on my skincare collection!
I’ve not been lazy lately and I have been actually washing and toning my face every morning, instead of just using makeup wipes or a glycolic wipe/pad, my skin has loved me for not being lazy.

I’d heard about this product from a few ladies in M&S so when I had the opportunity to test out the “Amaretto smelling face wash” which was all natural I couldn’t say no. This is the Northern Soap Deep Facial Cleaning by a brand called Natura Siberica.

It’s all natural, no animal bi products included so it’s vegan friendly, and it smells amazing.

This is a deep cleanser with activated charcoal that you wipe on with the sponge (which is conveniently included), and wash off. It’s recommended you do this twice a week, inbetween your usual cleansing routine. Read on to see how I got on with this product!

After reading a little about Natura Siberica, the way they create their products is really fascinating and a great deal of care does go into creating their products. Natura Siberica’s ingredients come from Siberia, and are the first certified Organic beauty based brand that uses wild herbs and blends in their products. Each ingredient is there for a reason and isn’t used to mask anything so you know only goodness is going straight into your skin.

Key ingredients for me which stuck out are Flax Seed Oil, which is great as an anti inflammatory,  Northern Cloudberry Extract, which is rich in Omega 3 and 6, and has Vitamin C which is great to promote the skins natural collagen and Sakhalin Raspberry Seed Oil, which is another antibacterial ingredient. Every ingredient included sounds as though it’s a huge detox for your skin and to just get it back looking healthy and fresh.

To use the product you use it once or twice a week, which was a mistake I discovered quite quickly. It did make my skin rather dry using it every day however this was my fault and take full blame for not actually reading the packaging properly. So using it twice a week as described I did find my skin was a lot softer.

The idea is you wet the sponge, rub it in the pot, layer it on in a semi thick layer, and wash off after a minute. You do not leave this on as a deep cleaning mask. It helps get rid of impurities in the skin, heal any blemishes, and with the ingredients inside helps moisturise and has a heap of anti ageing properties which help promote collagen and helps the skins elasticity. The sponge included is super soft an gentile, which was one thing I was concerned about incase it felt super abrasive but it was soft like cotton, and it is easy to clean with hot water. The sponge dries up but with a bit of warm water goes back soft and squidgy ready to blend the product on your face.

I did find the longer I left the product on the dryer my skin felt, so this is one you certainly put on, wash off and do not leave to dry. I’m not sure if it’s because when it dries it sucks up the oils placed on the skin from the product so it’s counter productive but my skin did feel nourished once put on then washed off. For me I found it worked a lot better on my cheeks as they are dryer and just as a general spot treatment for persistent spots, it really helped to keep the inflamed area down and dry out the spot.

For the price, I was surprised it retails so low for a jar that’s so big. It is one I will repurchase in the future and is one I will grab in between exfoliating my skin to just give it a bit of a deep clean before it needs to be scrubbed off the following day. I’d recommend for any skin type as I found on different days using it it helped with different areas of my face.
